And eventually, Havelock heads upstairs, with the intention of getting to sleep.

...At some point. Half an hour later sees him showered and in clean clothes, sitting cross-legged on his bed and writing up certain impressions that he doesn't wish to forget. Among them ideas for a new trap to install in his aunt's chimney.

Idly, he wonders if razor blades would be too unsporting.

"Mmm? Oh, quite well." Except for, you know, Lilly's being missing and everything. Puck hasn't quite caught on to that one yet.

"Rather distressingly dull, actually," he adds with a sigh. "Your own doings are of far greater interest."

"So I have heard," Puck says dryly. "But thus far, I have yet to experience them."

"That quite explains it," Puck sighs.

And ... snuggles, a little bit.

"I have ever been lacking in patience."

This is not madness!

THIS IS SPART--

"'Tis a wonder you put up with me, really."

"I'm sure."

Puck is Very Serious.

"Your fortitude is to be commended."

"Have you really?"

Shock!

"By whom?"

[identity profile] puckishly.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Aha."

Now giving him a sidelong glance.

"I suppose that excludes Master Maxwell."

"Nor have I, really. But it is just the sort of thing I shouldn't put past him, did I feel him capable of irony."

Puck snorts. "Charitable of you, darling."

Charity is a quality that Puck has always admired in Havelock.

Also: kissability. Namely, of the neckish regions.

Puck is only too happy to share his talent with Havelock; it's lovely to be appreciated, after all.

"Oh ... utterly."

Puck can tell when Havelock unwinds; he's gotten good at telling.

It's an immensely satisfactory feeling every time.

He leans in, tilting his head a bit to get a better angle, and possibly the thought flickers through his mind that huh, it'll be awkward if the kids wake up and are scarred for life.

The narration presents this only as a possibility.

Good thing for Aria and Adrian, at the very least.

Puck and Lilly may deliberately traumatize them with fish executions, but this is something he'd rather keep on the downlow.

.... Sadly, that goes for you too, gentle reader.
